Service Earned Benefits: The Story Behind the VAAR Veteran Shirt
Updated: 20 hours ago
Benefits are not a handout. They are part of the deal you signed when you raised your right hand. That is the whole idea behind three words: SERVICE EARNED BENEFITS.
We printed them big across the chest of the Service Earned Benefits Veteran T-Shirt, with the VAAR flag and the same three words on the left sleeve, where a unit patch would sit.

What VAAR is
VAAR stands for Veteran Assessment Accurate Ratings. It is the veteran education program at vaarframework.com that I built after 22 years in the Navy, most of them on submarines. VAAR teaches how the VA rating process works so veterans walk in informed.
VAAR is educational. It is not legal advice, and VAAR does not file or represent claims. For help with a claim, contact an accredited representative: a VSO such as DAV, the American Legion or VFW, an accredited claims agent, or an attorney.
Why a shirt
Too many veterans still talk about benefits like they are asking for a favor. A shirt is a small thing, but it starts conversations at the VFW, the hardware store and the kitchen table.
Submarine veterans can get the version with their own boat: the VAAR Submarine Veteran Shirt puts the boat name and hull number on the front and the VAAR flag on the sleeve.
The details
Soft ring-spun cotton, printed in the USA, made to order. The flag is navy and oxblood, so it prints on light shirts: ash, natural, soft cream and sand. Sizes run XS to 4XL.
